Our History
Building God's kingdom in Toronto
The history of Assembleia de Deus Ministério Missão Projeto Restaurando Vidas began when Pastor Dernival Pereira arrived in Toronto with the desire to gather the brethren to worship God. In 2017, services began at Sister Gisa's house. The group grew, and services moved to Sundays at the Baptist Church on 1871 Weston Road.
But Pastor Dernival needed to return to Brazil. The work could not stop. The ministry then made a decision: to send Pastor Edson and his family as missionaries to take over the work.
With Pastor Edson's arrival, the church was officially established as Assembleia de Deus Missão Canadá. What began as a small gathering at Sister Gisa's house became a solid church, which stands firm to this day under the leadership of Pastor Edson and his family.

The work of Assembleia de Deus Ministério Missão Projeto Restaurando Vidas in Canada had already been cared for by God. At the end of 2018, presiding pastor Suimar José Caetano, president of the Assembleia de Deus Ministério Missão Projeto Restaurando Vidas church in the United States, felt in his heart that it was time to further strengthen the work in this land. The ministry then made a decision: to send Pastor Edson and his family as missionaries to take over the work in Canada.
On December 24, 2018, Christmas Eve, Pastor Edson, his wife, and their daughters set foot on Canadian soil. They left behind family, friends, and everything they knew, but carried in their hearts the certainty that God had called them to that mission. Upon arriving, they found a small group of brethren who had already been meeting since 2017 at the church on 1871 Weston Road. With Pastor Edson's arrival, the work was strengthened and the ministry became established, growing steadily.
The church was then officially established as Assembleia de Deus Missão Canadá. What began as a humble gathering became a solid congregation, which continues to this day with Pastor Edson and his family dedicated to the work, spreading God's word and restoring lives in this land.
